Nayanthara, referred as lady superstar of South cinema, is famous for films like "Aram", "Kolamavu Kokila", "Sri Rama Rajyam" and "Imaikkaa Nodigal". The film is unconventional and thrilling - audiences who enjoy bold content will love Netrikann," producer Vignesh Shivan said in a release, as per a report by PTI. As a visually impaired woman, she uses her senses to the best of her abilities to track down a serial killer and uncover hidden truths. "The film is centered around a unique and resilient woman, portrayed by Nayanthara with such elan. The film is reportedly an official remake of 2011 South Korean movie "Blind" as per a report by PTI. In "Netrikann", Nayanthara is playing a visually-challenged woman who unravels a world beyond what meets the eye, in her quest for justice.
The star cast of the film include Nayanthara, Ajmal Ameer, Manikandan and Sharan Shakti. Produced by Vignesh Shivan under the banner of Rowdy Picture, Netrikann was earlier scheduled to release in theatres however, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the makers of the film decided to release it on the OTT platform.
