Plot Summary: Lain Iwakura appears to be an ordinary girl, with almost no experience with computers. The Serial Experiments Lain video game was released for PlayStation on Novemby Pioneer LDC and was designed by Konaka and Yasuyuki, and made to be a "network simulator" in which the player would navigate to explore Lain's story. It shows characters who were included in the PS game but not in the TV series (like the psychiatrist), but also determinant characters from the anime who didn't appear in the video game (like Deus). It's a bonus story which apparently isn't related with either the anime nor the PS game. The 18 page short story can be found in the Lain Omnipresence in Wired artbook. Is a drawn full-color manga from Yoshitoshi Abe. Serial Experiments Lain: The Nightmare of Fabrication (One Shot) A PlayStation game with the same title was released in November 1998 by Pioneer LDC.
It was broadcast on TV Tokyo from July to September 1998. Konaka, and produced by Yasuyuki Ueda for Triangle Staff.
